When Lion had Wings and Ouma Olifant at The Masque Theatre
Jungle Theatre Company will perform two of their shows based on African folktales on 17 June 2023
When Lion Had Wings is based on a traditional Khoikhoi folktale. The story starts in ancient times when all the animals lived in fear of Lion who could fly, but some frogs reveal where his magic is hidden. The balance of nature needs to be restored.
Ouma Olifant/Makhulu Indlovu explores how elephants heal the wounds of the past and re-establish their bonds to humans, their heritage and environment. Suitable for children 6–12 years.
