You are able to filter resource listings to display a more refined list. For example, if you go to the preschool guide, you can select Cape Town to the left of your monitor under the city category. You can then type in a suburb / area in the search field above this (i.e. Bellville) and click search. This will filter all the listings that have ‘Bellville’ as the area. This will considerably shorten the list you will need to browse to find a school in the area of your choice. This function works for other resource categories too. You can also use the alphabetical filter above the resource listings.
In order to upload a new listing, first register with Childmag.co.za or login using your account details.
To register with our website, go to the homepage and in the member login box click on 'create new account'. You will be directed to the user account registration page. Please fill in the relevant fields on the page (i.e. username, email, name and captcha) and accept the T&C’s. Then click 'create new account'.
You will receive an email notification with your username and password details.
When you login you will be taken to your profile page. You can manage your events and resource listings from this page – load new events / listings or upgrade a free listing to a premium listing.
Premium listings display value-added information, including a photo or logo, longer description, website address and Google map location. A six-month listing costs R250 per month (excl VAT); a 12-month listing costs R225 per month (excl VAT). You need to be a registered user with the site in order to upload a free or premium listing.

Our back issues section lists the previous eleven issues of Child Magazine. You can click on the magazine cover of any issue and then page through the issue on your screen. You can zoom in to read a particular advert. Roll your mouse cursor over the page and click once to zoom in and then again to zoom out.

Yes, you can read updates on the Child Magazine Facebook page if you don’t have a profile, but you will need to have your own Facebook profile to become a fan of Child Magazine. If you are on Facebook, 'like' our page and you’ll receive regular updates about local events, great competitions and useful content from the Child Magazine website. You’ll also be able to contribute to discussions around parenting topics on our page. Clicking on the Facebook icon above will direct you to our Facebook page.
Our events calendar and resource listings are categorised according to one of the six South African cities we currently cover. To make it easier to find what you’re looking for, select your city (i.e. Johannesburg) from the drop-down menu on the top right of your screen. The events and resources will automatically sort according to the city you have selected. If you have cookies enabled on your browser, the next time you visit childmag.co.za the site will default to the city you chose the last time you were here. If you want to revert back to “all cities” or select another city, repeat the process.
Child Magazine is currently published in three cities – Cape Town, Joburg and Durban. You can subscribe to the magazine if you live elsewhere in the country or cannot get your hands on a copy. Go to our subscription page for more information.
