Fatherhood took me a bit by surprise and hasn't let up. So much for the urologist's muttering about those slacker sperm of mine. But I'm glad he was wrong.
This blog is about being a dad, not sage parenting advice – plenty of that elsewhere on the Child magazine website. I will confess, however, that I'm grateful my experience of fatherhood has not all been tantrums and time-outs and financial pressures and back chatting. It's also been punctuated by a gleeful child meeting me at the door after a mad day at the office; by Father's Day cards telling me how rad a dad I am; and by random hugs. Watching my daughter growing up and being a part of her life is something I wouldn’t trade for all the cold beer in the world.
I hope you'll enjoy reading my reflections about fatherhood. Please feel free to chip in with hilarious and insightful comments about your own experiences.
