Litchi Festival

The Litchi picking Festival starts on the 15th of December (when the litchi’s are ripe) and finishes round about the 31st of December (when the litchi’s run out). We will keep you updated on our Facebook and Instagram pages (Facebook - www.facebook.com/litchifestival / Instagram - @litchifestival). Entrance fee includes 1,6 kg litchi’s and a tractor trailer trip into the orchard. There will be tractor trips every 15 – 20 minutes. We do not take bookings but work on a first come first served basis. Eat as many litchis as you can while picking.

Alice in Wonderland

This new version of Alice in Wonderland, offers a glorious array of zany, topsy-turvy characters, including colourful puppets as well as magical scenery, vibrant costumes, topical jokes and toe-tapping songs.

Written and directed by Steven Stead, and designed by Greg King, the show stars Georgina Mabbett as Alice, and features Liesl Coppin as the Queen of Hearts, Belinda Henwood as the White Queen, and Mthokozisi Zulu as the White Rabbit. Others in the cast include Blessing Xaba, Lyle Buxton, Nathan Kruger, and Bryan Hiles.

Living Maths Space Tour - by former NASA astronaut, Dr Don Thomas

Durban Botanic Gardens Trail of Lights

Offering a magical night out for families, couples and groups and the chance to give back to several noteworthy charities, this year’s trail will be bigger and brighter than ever. Ticket sales officially launch on 1 October.

The Trail of Lights will open on 12 December with a VIP preview evening where only 2000 tickets are available. “We will officially switch the lights on once everyone has gathered in the gardens and there will be other special attractions available for the first evening,” says event organiser, Alene Naidoo.

Talana Museum Live

The Talana Museum is hosting a weekend of events. New this year is the re-enactment of the Battle of Delville Wood, join the armies and relive history.
