Cape Town's Child™ is every parent's favourite monthly companion, and we invite you along for the ride. Welcome to Cape Town's best FREE guide for parents.

About Us
Hunter House Publishing was formed in 2003 when publisher, Lisa McNamara's research confirmed the need for a practical parenting magazine for Cape Town. Cape Town's Child™ was first published in February 2004, followed by the launch of Joburg's Child™ in August 2005 and Durban's Child™ in May 2007. The magazines quickly entrenched themselves as valuable resources for parents within the relevant cities.

Magazine Profile
Cape Town's Child™ is a FREE parenting magazine published 11 times a year (with a combined December/January issue).
Readers welcome the diversity of resources we publish, from full-length editorial features to the smallest classified advert. From the party pages to the professional directory, adverts for clothing retailers, car dealerships and small furniture businesses, readers will find what they're looking for and weren't able to source elsewhere.
The content is refreshing, informative and interesting and we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver material that is both relevant and engaging. Full length feature articles, written by award-winning writers deal with pertinent issues that are relevant to today's parents. The resource articles assist families in exploring their surrounds and provide interesting ideas for weekend activities, be it hiking routes, bike rides or picnic spots. The good book guide gives parents convenient access to the latest reads, both for themselves and their children. The Health Q & A offers easy to read and understand information that is relevant to family health issues. Every month the What's On guide provides extensive daily listings on events in the area - from cooking courses and cultural events to workshops and walks - giving families a valuable resource with which to plan their month. Finally the magazine ends with a regular humorous column by Sam Wilson, allowing parents to laugh a little, both at themselves and the world around them.

There are no other free parenting magazines of this calibre and reach in South Africa.

Target Market and Reader Profile
Our magazines target parents of children from birth to 12 years in the middle to upper income group (LSM 7 - 10). Based on interaction we have had with our readers it is apparent that fathers and mothers read our magazines, however the bulk of the respondents (to articles, competitions, etc.) are mothers. Our readers are educated and have a very real interest in using the magazines to assist them in their parenting endeavours.

Advertiser profile
Advertisers comprise a wide variety of businesses from a diverse range of industries looking to reach our readership in the most effective manner. The pricing and composition of Cape Town's Child™ enables professionals and businesses of any size to be catered for. The impressive return on advertising investment has resulted in the bulk of our advertisers repeating their business with our publication(s).

Circulation and Distribution
Cape Town's Child™ currently has a circulation of 40 000.
Distribution is largely through schools (in excess of 85% of circulation) thus ensuring that the product always reaches the targeted readers. We reach in excess of 298 primary, preparatory, pre-schools and playgroups. The schools are largely private schools but government schools whose pupil intake is predominantly children of parents within the middle/high income group also receive our magazines. In addition to schools the magazines are also distributed through outlets that are frequented regularly by parents such as mother and baby wellness centres, moms and tots workshops, libraries and select retail outlets and shopping centres.
